So Thought Choice Power is a political philosophy book — but hear me out. Plebeius writes about democracy and civic responsibility in a way that actually feels urgent and relevant rather than like a textbook assignment.
The historical grounding is solid — Aristotle, Madison, Eisenhower all make appearances with actual purpose — and the argument about concentrated wealth corrupting democratic governance is made plainly and bluntly. It closes with: “I am Plebeius. And, like it or not, I suspect you are too.” Actually a great line.
It’s a demanding read. But if you want a framework for thinking about the current state of things rather than just reacting, this delivers.
